Scandal-hit Barclays axes chief executive Antony Jenkins

Mr Jenkins has left Barclays with immediate effect, a spokesman has confirmed. Under him, the British bank slashed more than 19,000 jobs, but the group has struggled to recover from the Libor fallout.
