From March 1, the government has raised development charge (DC) rates, which are payable for enhancing the use of some sites or building projects on them.
The rate will rise by 15 per cent on average for commercial use and 13 per cent on average for hotel and hospital use.
DC rates for industrial use are unchanged.
On average, DC rates for landed and non-landed residential uses were each increased by 1 per cent.
The rates, revised on March 1 and Sept 1 each year, are pegged according to use groups across 118 geographical sectors. The Ministry of National Development (MND), in consultation with the Chief Valuer, revises DC rates based on current market values.
