Abterra's independent director resigns

MINERALS and resources company Abterra said on Thursday an independent director, Victor Chew, has resigned. Mr Chew was chairman of the remuneration committee.

His resignation came as "his new work assignments and commitments require him to travel overseas extensively and to develop new businesses", a regulatory filing by Abterra showed.

Singapore Exchange this month reprimanded Abterra, its executive chairman Cai Sui Xin and chief executive officer Lau Yu for breaches of listing rules.
