THE statistics paint a rosy picture of promise and opportunity for South-east Asia's bustling logistics sector in the coming years.
The region is preparing itself for the start of the Asean Economic Community by the end of the year, which would see the region transform into a single market and production base serving some 600 million people in 10 countries, including Singapore.
South-east Asia's economies are set to grow by an average of 5.5 per cent in the next decade and once integrated. Economists expect Asean to overtake the European Union in terms of growth within the next 10 to 15 years.
