Tangs promotes chief operating officer to CEO

Singapore retailer Tangs has appointed Kevin M Dyson, a former executive at Barneys New York, as its new chief executive officer (CEO) with effect from April 1.

Singapore retailer Tangs has appointed Kevin M Dyson, a former executive at Barneys New York, as its new chief executive officer (CEO) with effect from April 1. 

Mr Dyson, who has been the chief operating officer (COO) at Tangs since September 2014, spent 25 years with the US luxury retailer and was the executive vice-president of all stores and operations before joining the Singapore retailer.

As CEO, he will be responsible for all aspects of the business and provide leadership in achieving Tangs' vision as a world-class retailer. He will also be appointed a director of CK Tang.

Mr Dyson replaces Foo Tiang Sooi, who will relinquish his duties as CEO, but will remain as a senior director of the company. In his new role as senior director, Mr Foo will focus on the financial aspects of the business, providing support to the chairman as well as the new CEO.

Mr Foo has been a member of the board since 1994, before assuming the role of COO in 1999. He was appointed as CEO in 2006.
