Investors take a shine to Asia

With better macro-economic fundamentals and improved corporate earnings, it is one of the bright spots in emerging markets.

Speaking to journalists, Mark Haefele, UBS Wealth Management global chief investment officer, said central bank stimulus is likely to continue to drive markets and risk assets, as it has since the 2008 financial crisis. The Federal Reserve, he said, is likely to begin to hike rates in September, and possibly again in December, for a total of 50 basis points.

ASIA is the "silver lining'' among global emerging markets, said Tan Min Lan, UBS Wealth Management head of the Asia-Pacific investment office.
