Changes in board appointments at four economic agencies

THE Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) on Wednesday announced board appointment changes at four economic agencies: the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*Star), Energy Market Authority (EMA), JTC Corporation and Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC).

The largest changes effective from April 1 this year were noted at JTC.

The new board members are: Ng Chee Keong, chairman of Jurong Port; Kwa Kim Li, managing partner, Lee & Lee Advocates and Solicitors; Vincent Chong, chief executive officer, ST Engineering; Jeanette Wong, group executive of institutional banking at DBS; and Lai Wei Lin, deputy secretary (policy), Ministry of Education.

The following directors at JTC are due to step down. They are Danny Teoh, former managing partner, KPMG; Tan Chee Meng, deputy chairman, WongPartnership; and Augustin Lee, deputy secretary, Ministry of Manpower.

A*Star similarly introduced five new board members, though the appointments had come into effect from February. They include Omkaram Nalamasu, chief technology officer of Applied Materials, and Siegfried Russwurm, member of the managing board of Siemens.
