Japan seen launching 5-10 trillion yen package to boost Abenomics

The "helicopter money" distributions are aimed at prodding reluctant consumers to open their wallets and start spending more to boost the important consumer spending component of the GDP, which amounts to around 60 per cent.


WITH Japan's economy widely believed to have slid back into recession in the first quarter of this year, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is expected to announce work on a substantial fiscal spending package as early as Tuesday, in order to keep the momentum of Abenomics going.
