New Zealand commodity prices fall 0.8% in July: ANZ bank
[WELLINGTON] Prices for New Zealand's main commodities fell in July, ANZ Bank's commodity index showed on Thursday.
The price index fell 0.8 per cent for the month, compared with a 2.1 per cent rise the month before, for its first drop since April.
On an annual basis the index was 21.1 per cent higher, compared to gains of 24.6 per cent the previous month.
Meat prices fell 3.4 per cent as lamb production in the Northern Hemisphere picked up while horticulture prices fell 5.6 per cent.
New Zealand's largest goods export, dairy, rose 1.4 per cent on global price gains.
