SG Budget 2017: S$1.5b top-up for GST Voucher Fund, S$500m boost for Medifund
THE GST Voucher Fund will see a S$1.5 billion top-up to support the increase in U-Save and other future GST Voucher payments, said Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat on Monday.
He also announced that Medifund will get a S$500 million boost, taking the total size of the fund to S$4.5 billion. Since the last top-up in FY2013, the Medifund utilisation rate has gone up by an average of 9 per cent per year from FY2013 to FY2015.
The ComCare Fund, which supports needy families and individuals, will also get a top-up of S$200 million, said Mr Heng.
