Trump trade to reverse by mid-year: HSBC strategist

Mr Herald van der Linde says that as expectations of Trump-led growth fade, people will shift from equities back to bonds. Long-term bond yields can thus come down, with prices going up.

THE wave of euphoria over the US-led economic growth that has lifted financial markets, dubbed the "Trump trade", is due to crash against reality by the middle of the year, HSBC's head of Asia-Pacific equity strategy Herald van der Linde has predicted.
