E50's jubilant 20 years

Attendees getting into the party mood at the E50 awards held at the Resorts World Sentosa Convention Centre on Nov 28 last year.
Tee Yih Jia's executive chairman Sam Goi (above), whose company started small in 1969 as a semi-mechanised factory producing spring roll pastry for the local markets, is today a global player in the manufacture of frozen foods. His company won first place in the E50 awards in 2000.
Mr Alan Chong, founder and managing director of local mechanical and electrical contractor Wah Loon Engineering, won first place in the E50 Awards in 2011.
Dr Andrew Chua, principal and executive chairman of East Asia Institute of Management, is proud his institute was in the top 10 E50 companies in 2012. The institute is one of the leading private education centres in Singapore today.
Hyphens Pharma, one of the E50 winners of 2010, was established in 1986, and is today a leader in speciality pharmaceuticals with an extensive reach in South-east Asian markets - making it one of the Asean region's leading pharma companies. Its MD, Lim See Wah (above), believes in creating value through innovation and driving the adoption of such innovations in the healthcare community.
Mr Karsono Kwee, owner of Eurokars Group, a multi- franchise entity that manages the distribution of luxury marques such as Rolls-Royce and Porsche, saw his group winning third place in 2011 in the E50 awards.

Mr Tan Ban Tiong, CEO for Excel Precast, which manufactures and supplies precast concrete components. The company is now looking to grow its overseas operations to meet rising demand for precast concrete. His company was in the top 10 E50 companies of 2013.
Mr Ong Jun Quan, executive director of Soon Li Heng Civil Engineering, is at the helm of the family-owned company which has been involved in the building process for a range of residential to office developments, mixed-use projects and tunnel excavation. The company won top rankings in the E50 awards last year.
