Waldorf Astoria Driving Experiences Supercar enthusiasts, take note. This could be your chance to drive not just one but three supercars on the open road.
Luxury hotel chain Waldorf Astoria's Driving Experience is offering guests the opportunity to get behind the wheels of three high-performance exotic cars - the Ferrari 458 Italia, McLaren MP4-12C, and Porsche GT3. A fourth, Lamborghini Gallardo, may also be used at some locations.
First launched at 12 of the chain's properties across the United States, Europe and the United Arab Emirates, the experience aims to get drivers acquainted with these supercars as well as with the destination.
You'll put the pedal to the metal on pre-arranged routes past open roads, such as desert and mountain roads.
Don't fret if you think you don't have the skills - drivers of all skill levels are welcome. There'll also be driving directors to coach you on the finer points of handling and driving these luxurious machines.
Among them is a professional race-car driver, Belgian-born Dider Theys, who has won driving competitions such as the 24 Hours of Daytona, twice, and was a podium finisher at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, three times.
Although the programme ends in December this year, you can still book a package with five of these hotels. In the US, these are Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix, Boca Raton Resort and Club in south Florida, and La Quinta Resort & Club in California.
In the United Arab Emirates, the hotels are the Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah and Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah, which is 50 minutes from Dubai International Airport.
The two-and-a-half-hour experience can also be tacked on top of special packages that include accommodation, a round of golf or dinner.
007 Aston Martin Alpine Tour
In the new James Bond movie Spectre, Daniel Craig has a new vehicle to use in car chase scenes - a very sexy Aston Martin DB10.
While you will probably not get to drive Mr Bond's car - only 10 examples have been created and all were used for shooting the movie - you can still get a taste of what it feels like to zip around in a sports coupe like a secret agent.
In this Bond-inspired five-day, four-night package by British tour operator Ultimate Drives, you'll take the wheels of the still-stunning Aston Martin V8 Vantage S and tear through the Swiss Alps and Italian Lakes.
Starting in Zurich, the driving tour includes four individual missions to five iconic 007 film shoot locations, from the Furka Pass in the Swiss Alps featured in Goldfinger, to the Villa del Balbianello on Lake Como shown in Casino Royale. And, after a hard day of driving is done, feel free to order a vodka martini - shaken not stirred, of course.
The package includes accommodation at chic boutique and luxury hotels, programmed GPS, car rental including insurance and on-call support.
Audi ice experience
For a taste of driving in the depths of winter, Audi offers four- to six-day winter training packages on icy tracks in Sweden in February and March and Finland from January to March.
In the Swedish town of Arvidsjaur, a few kilometres south of the Arctic Circle, the Audi ice experience runs from two to five days.
Drivers "train" in an Audi S5 Sportback around a winding ice circuit and learn how to master tight turns and bends, and other handling techniques.
Some 200 kilometres beyond the Arctic Circle, in a little Finnish town called Muonio, another Audi ice experience in an Audi S5 Sportback awaits. This programme lets you learn how to steer, counter-steer stabilise and drift - not on tarmac but on sheet ice. You'll also get to drive out over a frozen lake, after passing circuits of up to seven kilometres.
Both programmes include a snow scooter tour into the respective landscapes, thick with ice and snow. If you'd like to take it up a notch, Audi also offers a five-day, four-night "pro exclusive experience" version of both programmes for highly experienced drivers.
