The Force Awakens racked up US$153.5 million in the US last weekend, clocking the biggest Christmas holiday result and the best second weekend for a film in history. In the United States, the film has grossed a mammoth US$544.6 million.

STAR WARS: The Force Awakens showed few signs of flagging over Christmas weekend, barrelling past the US$1 billion mark globally at a faster clip than any film in history.
