US millennials are picking pets over people

A majority of millennials - 76 per cent - said that they are more likely to "splurge" on their pets than for themselves, including for expensive treats or a custom bed, according to a 2014 study by Wakefield Research.

YOUNG Americans are less likely to be homeowners, car owners or parents than their predecessors, but they do lead in one category: pets.
