BRABUS has zoomed off to a new authorised retailer in Singapore - AutoArt Motorsports.

The German tuner which specialises in Mercedes-Benz cars has now appointed AutoArt, a joint venture between well-known parallel importer VinCar and KBS Motorsports.

The Brabus company is known for extracting more oomph out of a Merc as well as jazzing it up with aggressive bodykits on the outside, and fancy enhancements on the inside such as full leather appointments for the seats, dashboard and door panels, and alcantara for the roof lining.

According to AutoArt, one of the more popular models for Brabus parts is the Mercedes-Benz S500 Coupe.

The PowerXtra performance upgrade will add 85 hp and 120 Nm to the 4.7-litre V8 for a total of 540 hp and 820 Nm.

To match all that power, Brabus also lowers the suspension, adds bigger rims and a sports exhaust.

There is a PowerXtra kit for lower displacements too.

According to AutoArt, one popular options is for the 2.0-litre petrol engine, used in the 200 or 250 series.

For the 200 series the Brabus PowerXtra B20.2 adds 41 hp and 30 Nm.

Prices start from S$800 for aerodynamic enhancements, and from S$2,700 for the PowerXtra engine upgrade.
