Hong Kong: Stocks open sharply higher
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks rallied at the open on Tuesday, tracking a record close on Wall Street while energy firms soared on hopes for a deal between Opec and Russia to cut oil production.
The Hang Seng index rose 0.75 per cent, or 168.71 points, to 22,526.49.
In Shanghai the benchmark composite index inched up 0.09 per cent, or 2.83 points, to 3,220.98 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, climbed 0.14 per cent, or 3.00 points, to 2,121.94.
