Singapore shares open below 2,800 points ahead of US jobs data report

SINGAPORE'S benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) opened at 2,785.28 points on Friday morning at 9.02am, down 16.57 points or 0.59 per cent from a day ago.

This was ahead of a US jobs data report.

Some 28.4 million shares worth S$42 million changed hands, with losers outnumbering gainers 75 to 47.

Top shares by value traded were DBS, Singtel, CapitaLand, UOB and SIA.
