[TOKYO] Tokyo shares closed higher on Tuesday, reversing early losses on better-than-expected Chinese factory data and relief over a Bank of Japan policy meeting that ended largely in line with expectations.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.10 per cent, or 17.38 points, to 17,442.40 while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.01 per cent, or 0.17 points, to 1,393.19.
