Tokyo: Stocks open higher following Wall St gains

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Friday, rebounding from two sessions of losses after a positive lead from Wall Street.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange climbed 0.22 per cent, or 36.96 points, to 16,599.51 in opening deals.
The broader Topix index of all first-section shares was up 0.12 per cent, or 1.61 points, at 1,333.42.
