Global airline industry cruising towards record earnings this year

But outlook differs between regions; North America will account for bulk of US$39b profits, Asia-Pac US$7.8b while Africa expected to stay in the red

Speaking at the 2016 International Air Transport Association AGM and World Air Transport Summit in Dublin, Iata chief Tony Tyler said the industry's return on invested capital has hit 9.8 per cent.
