Operators of shared bicycles to be licensed

The move is aimed at curbing indiscriminate parking of these rental bikes in public places

oBike bicycles parked haphazardly at an Adam Road bus stop. Since mid-2017, the LTA has issued more than 2,100 removal notices and collected S$180,000 in fines and fees from the operators.


TO TACKLE the growing scourge of shared bicycles being parked indiscriminately, rental operators such as oBike, ofo and MoBike will soon come under a licensing regime.
