SIA signs codeshare deal with Air Mauritius
SINGAPORE Airlines (SIA) and Air Mauritius have inked a codeshare agreement, giving passengers more choice when flying to Mauritius.
As part of the agreement, SIA will add its "SQ" designator code to Air Mauritius-operated flights between Singapore and Mauritius. Air Mauritius presently operates three flights weekly on the route.
The agreement kicks in for travel from Nov 1, subject to regulatory approvals.
SIA's senior vice-president (marketing planning) Tan Kai Ping said: "We are delighted with the new agreement with Air Mauritius, which will add the beautiful island nation of Mauritius to the SIA codeshare network. This is another example of how we are continuously looking to expand our reach to provide customers across the SIA network with more travel options."
"Air Mauritius is pleased to announce Singapore Airlines as a codeshare partner as we look to further strengthen the Mauritius-Singapore route," said Megh Pillay, chief executive of Air Mauritius.
