Nomura to set up Singapore-based infrastructure project office for Asia
NOMURA on Wednesday said that it would set up a new Asia infrastructure project office by August that will focus on financing infrastructure projects in the region.
This comes as global investors are increasingly seeking alternative investments, with the Japanese bank looking to boost its "network hub" between South-east Asia and Japan, it said in a media statement.
"This is an exciting development for Nomura as we look to help our clients in Asia add value to their businesses through investment in infrastructure projects," said Mitsutoshi Murakata, head of the Asia infrastructure project office. "Nomura's long-term strategy is focused on the growth of Asia, and we want to help facilitate the development of the region by connecting markets east and west as Asia's global investment bank."
