BRC Asia clarifies offer's closing date
MAINBOARD-LISTED steel mesh maker BRC Asia has clarified on Monday that based on the announcements made on Oct 3 and 5 by ABN Amro Bank NV's Singapore Branch for and on behalf of Esteel Enterprise, the closing date should have been 5.30pm on Oct 30.
The closing date printed on the circular earlier had been 5.30pm on Oct 20.
It was also referring to the announcement the company itself made on Oct 6regarding the despatch of the circular.
Announcing this in a Singapore Exchange filing, BRC Asia said it should further be noted that the ABN Amro has announced that the offer "will not be open for acceptance beyond 5.30pm on Oct 30, and that all acceptances received thereafter will be rejected".
Esteel Enterprise, a private company,is making a mandatory general offer of S$0.925 per share to acquire the shares that it does not already own in BRC Asia.
