[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks slipped 0.21 per cent on Tuesday as profit-takers moved in after the previous day's rally that came in response to China's shock decision to cut interest rates.

But in mainland China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 1.37 per cent, or 34.72 points, to 2,567.60 - its highest since August 2011 - on turnover of 282.2 billion yuan (US$46.0 billion).

The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, jumped 1.42 per cent, or 19.62 points, to 1,397.41 on turnover of 242.1 billion yuan.
