Hong Kong: Stocks start slightly higher

Published Tue, Aug 30, 2022 · 09:50 AM

HONG KONG stocks opened with small gains on Tuesday (Aug 30) morning, clawing back some of the previous day’s losses fuelled by concerns about the Federal Reserve’s interest rate hike plans.

The Hang Seng Index edged up 0.20 per cent, or 39.51 points, to 20,062.73.

The Shanghai Composite Index started flat, ticking down 0.54 points to 3,240.18, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China’s second exchange also barely moved, inching up 0.15 points to 2,147.88. AFP
