Market cap seen growing to US$54t by 2030, overtaking UK and Japan

CHINA's equity market looks set to overtake those of the UK and Japan to become the world's second largest by 2030, according to a new report by the Credit Suisse Research Institute.

While the US will still be the largest equity market, with a capitalisation of US$98 trillion, the Chinese market will grow to US$54 trillion by 2030 - at a 17-year compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15.6 per cent, nearly double the global average.
