Ignatius Low appointed SPH chief marketing officer

Mr Low takes over from Elsie Chua and will be in charge of advertisement solutions across the print, digital, radio and outdoor platforms, as well as content marketing. Ms Chua is retiring after 20 years with the company.


SINGAPORE Press Holdings (SPH) on Wednesday announced the appointment of Ignatius Low as its chief marketing officer (CMO), in charge of advertisement solutions across the print, digital, radio and outdoor platforms, as well as content marketing.

Mr Low takes over from Elsie Chua, who is retiring from the company after 20 years of distinguished service.

The announcement was made on Wednesday afternoon at a town hall meeting of SPH's media group. Mr Low's appointment as CMO is effective immediately, with Ms Chua staying on until June 2018 to ensure a smooth transition for SPH's key advertising clients and partners.

Mr Low is not new to SPH's integrated marketing division, having joined in September 2016 as head of media solutions, reporting to Ms Chua. SPH's integrated marketing division was set up to enable the marketing team to offer advertisers integrated marketing solutions across multiple platforms.

He will commence his onboarding immediately with Ms Chua and fully take over her responsibilities on Ms Chua's last day of service.

Mr Low said: "The media landscape may have become more competitive and fragmented than ever before, but I believe many of our advertising clients still see great value in investing in SPH's quality platforms and audiences.

"Our job is to clearly define that value, and update our approach and solutions to meet today's evolving demands."

She is a media industry veteran who has helmed everything from print display and classified sales to outdoor advertising and content marketing.

Ms Chua said: "It has been a good 20 years riding out several peaks and troughs in SPH. I have been blessed with good bosses, wonderful colleagues and supportive customers.

"The opportunity is ripe for me to let go and move on to have more control of my time, smell the roses, see the world, give back to the community and learn new things. "

Ms Chua added that she is confident Mr Low will bring the team and relationship with customers to greater heights.
