THE value of Singapore stocks rose for the second straight quarter on the back of banks and property companies, but the market limps into the second half with the World Cup taking a bite out of liquidity.

Analysts are expecting the blue chips to extend their gains for the rest of the year, with mergers and acquisitions still a key theme amid a challenging earnings outlook.
