Take a leaf from Maybank on diversity, inclusivity

EARLY this month pretty exciting news came from across the Causeway - Maybank to be precise - but it didn't make it into the headlines.
Which was a pity as Maybank - the fourth-biggest bank in South-east Asia - named Mohaiyani Shamsudin as its next chairman, making her the first woman to head the country's largest public-listed company. Her appointment as chairman begins on April 1.
Including Ms Mohaiyani who has been a director since 2011, Maybank has three women among its 12 member board, a 25 per cent female representation.
