Singapore sets up technical framework ahead of LNG bunkering operations

SINGAPORE has launched a framework for the loading and unloading of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a ship fuel, paving the way for the port nation to undertake its first LNG bunkering operation in early 2017.

The technical framework, TR56, was launched on Friday by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), Spring Singapore and the Standards Development Organisation @ Singapore Chemical Industry Council (SCIC).
