[WASHINGTON] US regulators lifted an almost two-day ban on domestic carriers' flights to Israel's busiest airport prompted by concerns over rockets fired by Palestinian militants.

Flights by US carriers in and out of Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion International airport were cleared to resume on Wednesday starting at 11.45 pm New York time, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement.

The agency ordered US airlines on July 22 to avoid the airport and earlier on Wednesday had extended the ban.
