Flexi-work: will it work?

What has been your organisation's experience, if any, with flexi-work schemes? What more can be done to promote a flexi-work culture among Singapore firms?

The move to embrace better work-life balance and flexi-work schemes needs to be top-down for it to work over the long haul. It is a big mindset change for senior leaders whose focus is on the bottom line. As long as these leaders remain unconvinced, flexi-work initiatives, however well intended and well crafted, will fizzle out down the line. By and large, today's bosses have come a long way in our acceptance of the need for work-life balance. In most cases, it is key for staff retention. More can to be done to convert the remaining 90 per cent of leaders who are still sceptical. One of the key factors would be establishing open communication...
