THERE is widespread support for a trade deal between Singapore and the European Union (EU) with key European leaders keen to have it come into force as soon as possible, said S Iswaran, Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations.
The minister, who was speaking to the media at the end of a four-day visit to Paris, said the French ministers he met have been "very supportive" of the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (EUSFTA), which is pending ratification. German leaders he met on a recent trip there expressed similar sentiments, he added.
