Guangzhou Knowledge City 'making progress'

THE Chinese port city of Guangzhou has, for the last eight years, been morphing from hilly agricultural farmland into a smart, "green" city under a Sino-Singapore joint project.
But it is still early days yet for the city, which is seeking to make that economic leap from a manufacturing base to a higher-value, knowledge-based one.
