PILIPINAS SHELL is a Philippines-focused integrated downstream refining and marketing company. It focuses on turning crude oil into a range of refined products, which are moved and marketed for domestic, industrial and transport use. The petroleum giant is the winner of the Community Care Company of the Year award from the Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability Awards (ACES).
Chief executive officer of MORS Group, organiser of the ACES Awards, Shanggari Balakrishnan, says that the corporation is the living embodiment of the criteria for this award category.

Their outreach campaigns engage the public, generate positive brand communication, and exceeded our judging criteria."

Pilipinas Shell is an active founding member of the Global Compact Network Philippines (GCNP), the local entity of the United Nations (UN) Global Compact, which is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world.
Serving the community
Formed in 2000, the UN Global Compact seeks business solutions to sustainable development. It guides companies to do well by operating responsibly, taking bold actions, and bringing the voice of responsible business to dialogues with world leaders.
By actively participating in the GCNP, Pilipinas Shell not only strengthens its local affiliations, as well as gains access to tools and reports that it uses to better inform and fine-tune its own programmes.
The Country Social Performance (SP) Manager drives Pilipinas Shell's Social Performance direction, and ensures SP cohesion. She manages the social performance team and provides in-country strategic leadership on social investments. She also oversees development and implementation of the country social investment strategy, manages (exit, grow, develop, improve) the mix of national and local programmes, and provides strategic advice to the Country Chairman and senior management on social development programmes towards ensuring maximum Shell reputation benefits among stakeholders, media, and employees.
Pilipinas Shell's SP is guided by the SP Control Framework, which puts in place the required governance as well as defining roles and responsibilities.
Pilipinas Shell works closely with Pilipinas Shell Foundation Inc (PSFI), its social development arm, for its various corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes.
