An international leader among libraries

THE National Library Board (NLB) has been managing the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions' (IFLA) Regional Office for Asia and Oceania for the past 13 years. The Asia and Oceania Regional Office covers 62 countries. With this appointment, NLB has been proactively raising the profile of the libraries in the region, and has been chosen to host many international forums in the past five years.

In 2013, Singapore was also selected by the Library of Congress in the United States as its first international partner to host the 2nd International Summit of the Book. In that same year, NLB hosted the IFLA World Library and Information Congress, which resulted in both organisations winning at the Singapore Tourism Board's Singapore Experience Awards 2014 in the "Experience - Association Conference Organiser of the Year" category.
