Popular Chinese restaurant chain wins award
POPULAR Chinese restaurant chain operator Pu Tien Holdings Pte Ltd is the proud winner of the Singapore SME 1000 - Sales/Turnover Growth Excellence Award in the Hospitality/Food & Beverage sector.
"We're honoured to receive the S1000 Growth Excellence Award for the Hospitality/F&B industry," says Fong Chi Chung, chief executive officer and founder of the company.
"The award recognition is a valuable addition to our brand recognition and it helps to enhance the credibility of our business. It also helps to demonstrate our exemplary financial performance of the previous year," he adds.
For Pu Tien, last year was a year of rapid expansion. Its business expansion in the China market in 2017 is believed to have laid a strong foundation for its future expansion plans.
The PUTIEN restaurant chain had humble beginnings, starting as a coffee shop in Singapore's Kitchener Road in 2000.
Over the years it has gradually grown into an international popular restaurant chain with 49 outlets in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Taiwan.
It serves cuisine from Fujian province in China: characteristically light, down to earth, and flavourful food with an emphasis on fresh ingredients.
The PUTIEN brand name has its roots traced to Putian, a beautiful coastal town located in Fujian province, China.
Surrounded by spectacular ocean views on one side and majestic mountains on the other, Putian is blessed with lush pastures and bountiful catches from the sea.
"Our delicacies will always carry the essence of our coastal city heritage - fresh, light and invigorating," says Mr Fong.
PUTIEN says that it has received numerous dining and business awards, including the Michelin Guide Singapore 2016 and 2017, Michelin One Star Restaurant Award (Kitchener Road Outlet), Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau 2016, 2017 & 2018, BIB Gourmand Restaurant Award (Causeway Bay Outlet in Hong Kong), Influential Brands Top Brand in Chinese Restaurant Category in 2015, 5S Excellence Award by Restaurant Association of Singapore, Epicurean Star Award 2012, 2010 Overall Champion of The Restaurant Association Singapore's Tasty Chef Award, and the Singapore Prestige Brand Award in 2009.
Mr Fong says that his company prides itself in fulfilling its mission to create an exceptional culinary experience for diners from all over the world.
