STRATEGICALLY shifting the company's focus and putting its resources into developing and manufacturing equipment for the food, logistics and the e-commerce industries in the last three years has paid off for A-Plus Automation (S) Pte Ltd. It is a proud winner of the SME100 awards this year.

The company says that its products and services are greatly in demand. With the right skill set and expertise in designing the materials handling and sorting systems, it has filled the gaps, and seen its sales revenues grow rapidly. Market voices on:

A-Plus was established in 2010. It was the result of the successful careers of its founding directors who have a wealth of knowledge and skill sets in designing, system integrating and manufacturing of the materials handling and warehouse sorting systems for more than 30 years.

The company's production facility is situated in Batu Pahat in Johor, Malaysia, because of the lower operating costs there. It has a highly skilled engineering team that effectively supports sales in both Singapore and South-east Asia.

"With a humble start in manufacturing of the standard conveyor system for the materials handling business, we continued to expand the business through rapid growth via ventures with our business partners in Japan, Europe and America, bringing in high performance automated systems to meet the growing demand in this region."

A-Plus's strength lies in its in-house engineering and manufacturing capabilities. It is able to design and recommend best-fit materials handling solutions to meet its client's needs - with creativity and ergonomic designs coupled with safety.

Mr Ham says A-Plus has implemented many high quality projects across the region and among its many customers are DHL, Kraft, Mondelez, Exxon Mobile, Nippon and e-commerce service providers. Looking ahead, Mr Ham says as the logistics and e-commerce industries continue to grow, and with Singapore positioned as the regional business hub within Asean, the company intends to move forward with a two-pronged approach.

Firstly, it will further boost its technical capabilities and production capacity and raise the quality to meet industry demands. Secondly, it will expand its market in Asean - covering Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam.
