HERE are two projects being developed by Singapore companies in China's smaller cities.
- Guilin - Waste-to-energy plant
On 15 July 2015, Keppel Infrastructure subsidiary Keppel Seghers secured a contract to provide technology packages and services to a waste-to-energy (WTE) plant in Guilin, China. Awarded by Shenzhen Energy Environment Engineering Co Ltd, the contract is Keppel Seghers' first-ever win in Guilin and third in China for 2015. Located in Lingui District, the plant will have two incineration lines, each capable of treating up to 750 tonnes of municipal waste per day.
- Jilin City - Sino-Singapore Jilin Food Zone
The first agricultural collaboration between Singapore and China, the 1,450 sq km Sino-Singapore Jilin Food Zone (SSJFZ) is managed by the Sino-Singapore Jilin Food Zone Development and Management Co Ltd, a joint venture between subsidiaries of Singbridge and the Jilin City government. This is designed to be an advanced and sustainable food zone which aims to become a scalable and replicable model in tackling food safety and security. The first high-quality japonica rice from SSJFZ will enter the Singapore market by the end of the year.
