Founders of daycare centre for kids with critical illnesses jointly named ST Singaporean of the Year 2023

A PAIR of women who opened a daycare centre for children battling cancer and other critical illnesses were jointly named The Straits Times Singaporean of the Year 2023 on Mar 13.

The benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) gained 1.4 per cent or 43.64 points to end the trading day at 3,214.40. Advancers outnumbered decliners 403 to 216, after 1.2 billion securities worth a total of S$1.3 billion changed hands. 

STI closes 1.4% higher amid regional rally

SINGAPORE shares closed higher on Thursday (Dec 28), following a rally across most of the stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region ahead of the new year. 

The Straits Times Index has ended Tuesday largely flat, with a decline of 0.01 per cent or 0.34 point to 3,139.98.
