Meet your art twin: a 400-year-old with an oily complexion

Many people intentionally go to museums in search for their doppelgängers encased in oil, sculpture or ceramics

Ross W Duffin stumbled upon his art twin, a warrior from a 17th-century Jan van Bijlert painting.

ROSS W Duffin was wandering through a museum in Pasadena, California, last summer when he paused before a 17th-century painting of a bearded warrior in armour.

"I thought, 'Wow, that is really funny. He looks just like me,'" Duffin recalled. Then he moved on.
