THE Canadian tenor Jon Vickers, who brought a colossal voice and raw dramatic intensity to everything he sang, including legendary portrayals of Wagner's Tristan, Verdi's Otello, Beethoven's Florestan and Benjamin Britten's Peter Grimes, has died. He was 88.
