Premier art fair cancelled at the last minute

Hundreds of artists and gallerists stranded after Art Stage Singapore 2019 is abruptly called off. Ex-fair director blames new rival art platform

Mr Rudolf says the "low participation costs" of taking part in S.E.A. Focus means that Art Stage has "no chance to compete and survive".

Art Stage hasn't fared well in recent years. But when it debuted in 2011, it was declared a success, drawing top galleries, artists and collectors from around the world.


ART Stage Singapore, long regarded as Singapore's biggest visual art fair, is cancelling the event just eight days before it's scheduled to open at Marina Bay Sands.
