TO celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival on Monday, 30 children from Lakeside Student Centre (Jurong East) took part in an acrylic painting masterclass by UOB Painting of the Year alumni artist Tan Rui Rong. The children were joined by more than 20 UOB employee volunteers.

The day's activities kicked off with a Chinese tea-making ceremony by tea master Yu Wei from Si Chuan Dou Hua restaurant.

Mr Tan's workshop with the kids followed. He shared with them tips on how to refine their painting techniques. The children, aged seven to 12, then drew upon their creativity to design their own lanterns using the acrylic painting techniques they had just learnt.

UOB volunteers, which included senior executives like UOB's head of balance sheet risk management Heng Li Koon, were also on hand to help the children with their artwork.

The session ended with the children receiving mooncakes from Ms Heng, which they took home together with their lanterns to enjoy with their families.
