British painter Peter Peri, who could well be a poster boy for the gritty street art, holds solo exhibitions and his works are collected by major institutions.
The 43-year-old, whose works are now on show at Pearl Lam Galleries, is a long way from being that teenager whose his graffiti landed him in jail for vandalism. It was a turning point for him; when he got out, he enrolled in art school.
