Audi R8 Spyder and RS 7 review: A tale of two rowdy Audis

Some cars pack a punch, but Audi's R8 Spyder and RS 7 have more kick than all the kangaroos in Australia put together


TWICE have the rozzers pinged me for speeding, and twice were Audis somewhat directly involved. Gurmit Singh, I feel your pain.

It's just as well that neither of my lapses in judgement took place during the weekends I spent with these particular Audis, the RS 7 Sportback and the R8 Spyder V10 RWD. If anything, it's a downright miracle that I didn't end up having to decorate my licence with ribbons and post it to the constabulary.

Just look at the RS 7, a car whose starting point is a dapper fastback (namely, the A7 Sportback), onto which layers of muscle are heaped high. It's so broad and low, while so many of its surfaces bulge with tension, you half expect the cops to decide you were...
