Book-lovers' dream shop
London Review Bookshop
14 Bury Place, London, WC1A 2JL
Opens daily till 6pm
IF you're visiting the British Museum for the Shunga exhibition, don't forget to visit the London Review Bookshop that's located a stone's throw away from the museum.
Several folk call this 10-year-old bookshop the best in the city, and you can see why. It's not particularly big but it's a bibliophile's heaven. Its well-curated selection of books ensures everything you pick up will be an intellectually satisfying read. Don't go to this bookstore looking for that New York Times or Amazon bestseller. Instead, go to find a surprisingly readable book on philosophy - even when you'd thought you were too dumb for philosophy - or that rare poetry collection you were told was out of print. Book lovers could spend a whole day there. Not surprisingly, the bookstore draws mostly students, artists and academics. Hang out at it…
