The CEO of famed Danish furniture maker Carl Hansen & Son talks to Tay Suan Chiang about his ambitious plans to expand the business

KNUD Erik Hansen says that when he joined his family business, Carl Hansen & Son in 2002, "there was no special feeling; it was like any other company that I had worked at before".

But, he adds, "it has grown on me".

Mr Hansen, 63, is the third-generation owner of the famed Danish furniture maker. His grandfather is the late cabinet maker Carl Hansen, who started his bespoke furniture workshop in 1908.
